Dog License

Dog License

New York State requires every dog 4 months of age or older to be licensed.  To obtain this license owners must provide proof of current rabies vaccination.  Dog licenses are valid for 1 year. Once your dog is licensed you will receive annual renewal forms in the mail.  Pet owners can apply for a dog license at the Town Clerk’s Office.

State Law mandates that we are only allowed to issue licenses to Harrison residents. All dogs four months of age or older must have a license.

Proof of current rabies vaccination is required for all dog licenses. A certificate of proof is required if the dog is spayed or neutered.

FEES: Spayed and neutered dogs:  $13.00
Unspayed and unneutered dogs:  $21.00

Guide dogs, war dogs, hearing dogs and service dogs are exempt from fees.

Licenses MUST be renewed yearly.

Once licensed, the dog owner will receive a Town of Harrison identification tag.  This tag shall be affixed to the dog’s collar at all times. Having the tag affixed to the dog’s collar is very important. The tag number identifies the dog and its owner.
