FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure Grant Program (BRIC)

Participants Required

Contact Engineering Department for more information

The Town is currently evaluating and developing an application to FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure Grant Program (BRIC) which would be intended to secure funding for residential home elevations in the community. If awarded, funding for home elevations would be provided at a maximum of 75% of the total estimated project cost, based on the FEMA Approved rates for such work in Westchester County. Participating homeowners would be required to cover the remaining 25%, as well as any costs above and beyond the grant value. At this time, homeowners of repetitive loss properties are encouraged to consider and submit two documents to indicate an interest in being considered for inclusion in the Town’s application. Please note, both documents are required to be considered, but do not bind the homeowner to participating, if the Town is ultimately awarded. Moreover, participant homeowners are also asked to provide detail relative to recent contents and building loss events at their property, in order to support the Town’s development of a requisite benefit-cost analysis for the application.
