Amended Notice as of March 21, 2020 The Municipal Building (Town Hall) will be closed to the general public until further notice. See below for department emails and phone numbers.

AMENDED NOTICE (as of 3/21/20)

As a result of the COVID-19 virus, and to limit the possibility that Town Hall might become a disease transmission location, the Town of Harrison Municipal Building will continue to be closed to the general public until further notice.  The Town will attempt to continue to provide full essential services to its residents.  All non-essential employees are working remotely to the extent practicable.

Town personnel of course face the same issues we all do in this demanding period, and I know we are all grateful for their dedication. With a view to protecting our employees, and the public with whom they have contact, we are asking the following of Harrison residents together with firms and other individuals that require interaction with the Town for our various municipal services:

1. Town Hall Services - many Town services are available electronically through our website.  We are requesting that residents access services electronically whenever possible.  Most of our departments are working remotely and not all departments will be able to provide the normal services that are typically done by each department.  We are not taking any in-person appointments for any Town of Harrison departments.  This is being done so that we can comply with the multitude of Executive Orders being issued daily by Governor Cuomo’s Office and to keep everyone safe.

2. Emergency Services - if you need to call for emergency assistance from the Police Department, Fire Department or EMS, and if you are in self-quarantine, quarantine or otherwise believe you present any heightened risk of COVID-19 exposure, please explain that when you call. This will allow emergency personnel to take appropriate precautionary measures.

3. Library and Recreation - consistent with the closing of the Harrison public schools, and with equal reluctance, all Recreation and library programming are still being suspended with the closing of the Recreation Centers and Library buildings as well.  We do not anticipate that this suspension will be for a prolonged period. We are continuing registrations for spring and summer activities.

We are taking the foregoing actions out of an abundance of caution.  We expect to maintain most of our essential municipal functions, but we will do so in a manner consistent with the precautionary steps being taken by all.  Naturally, we will have to re-evaluate our approach on a daily basis.

We thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
