WJWW Project to Impact Town/Village of Harrison Traffic Beginning Week of January 15, 2018

The Westchester Joint Water Works will begin work on a capital project to construct a water transmission main starting on Monday, January 15, 2018 in the Town/Village of Harrison. The initial phase of work in the Town/Village of Harrison will be on Sunnyside Avenue extending from South Road to Bruce Avenue and lasting 2 to 3 weeks. Hours of construction will be from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday to lessen the impact on traffic in accessing the Harrison commuter lot. The construction wil affect the following roads and will impact the traffic in the area:

South Road and Macy Road near the intersection with Sunnyside Ave (one way south-bound only towards Halstead Ave) Detour

Sunnyside Avenue from South Road to Bruce Avenue (Closed) Detour

During the hours of construction from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm there will be no access to the commuter lot from Sunnyside Avenue. Please use the alternate access to the commuter lot opposite Nelson Avenue during this time.

There will be maintenance and protection of traffic which will include posted detours. (The contractors will work with local residents to maintain access to their homes.) The public is advised to avoid the area if possible or allow for extra travel time until the construction is completed.

If you have any questions you may contact the Westcheter Joint Water Works at 914-698-3500.
