A.  REPORT FROM SUPERVISOR DIONISIO ON DECISIONS MADE FOLLOWING TOWN BOARD MEETING HELD ON AUGUST 7, 2024

1. Authorization to approve the conditional appointment of Vito DeFonce as a Fire Fighter, at annual salary of $42,692.00, subject to the maximum probationary period permissible.

2. Authorization to approve the conditional appointment of Michael Gentile as a Fire Fighter, at annual salary of $42,692.00, subject to the maximum probationary period permissible.

3. Authorization to approve the conditional appointment of Nikolas Marinelli as a Fire Fighter, at annual salary of $42,692.00, subject to the maximum probationary period permissible.

4. Authorization to approve the conditional appointment of Andrew Sherwood as a Fire Fighter, at annual salary of $42,692.00, subject to the maximum probationary period permissible.

5. Authorization to accept the list of Recreation Attendants and Lifeguards for the 2024 Camp Season.

6. Authorization to approve an annual stipend paid to Rocky Consigliere, in the amount of $12,000.00, effective August 1, 2024, for part-time work as a liaison to community veterans. 

7.Authorization to raise the cap on legal fees paid to Abrams Fensterman, LLP to $40,000.00, in connection with the Willow Ridge Country Club Condemnation.

1. Monthly report for the Building Department and Code Enforcement for the month of July, 2024.

2. Monthly report for the Bureau of Fire Prevention for the month of July, 2024.

3. Monthly report for the Receivers of Taxes for the month of July, 2024.

4. Monthly report for the Harrison Police Department for the month of July, 2024.

5. Monthly report for Community Services and Veterans affairs for the month of August, 2024.

D. ACTIONS AND RESOLUTION

1. Request by, Harrison Resident, Megan Darrell, to hold a Block Party on September 28, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Hess Avenue, closing the entire street. Hess avenue is a one block street between Coakley Avenue and Danner Avenue. All residents affected by the closure have been notified. Insurance will be submitted.

2. Notification by, Superintendent of Recreation, Gerry Salvo, of the It’s Great to Live in Harrison Columbus Day Observation weekend festivities:

3. Notification by, Superintendent of Recreation, Gerry Salvo, that the Citizen of the Year Committee is now taking nominations for the 2024 Citizen of the Year Award to be presented at the It’s Great to Live in Harrison Celebration/Columbus Day Observance, schedules for Monday, October 14, 2024. Nominations can be sent to the Citizen of the Year Committee, c/o Gerry Salvo, 1 Heineman Place, Harrison, NY 10528. Nomination must be submitted by September 13, 2024.

4. Request by, Chief of Fire District #1, Peter Sciliano, to transfer funds from 010-3410-100-04 06 (Travel & Conference) to 010-3410-100-0230 (Motor Vehicles) the amount of $8,200.00 for the purpose and the installation for emergency lighting, radio, siren and mounting equipment on the new Polaris ATV. (Mini Attack 3)

5. Request by, Comptroller, Maureen MacKenzie, to increase the library revenue and expense budget lines to reflect the receipt of the remaining 10% of the NYS Construction grant, and the transfer of these funds into the Capital Fund, specifically capital project 24LB03.

6. Request by, The Harrison Elementary Enrichment Committee (EEC), for the closure of Nelson Avenue between Mathews Street and Union Avenue for annual Carnival to accommodate food truck vendors as well as increase safe pedestrian crossing. This event will be held at Feeley Field on October 4, 2024 through October 6, 2024.

7. Request by, Chief of Police, John T. Vasta, for two (2) members and Police Canie attend the annual week of In-Service K-9 Training. The training is conducted by Gold Sheild Canine Training LTD and will be held from September 16, 2024 through September 20, 2024, in Pataskala, Ohio. The cost of this training including travel expenses should not exceed $3,082.00. This is a budgeted item and funds are available in the K9 Services Account Line #001-3120-100-0471.

8. Request by, Chief of Police, John T. Vasta, to sell the Town of Harrison’s Mobile Radios to the Town of Mount Pleasant on an agreed upon amount stated in the sale and purchase agreement. The Law Department has reviewed the agreement along with the Town of Mount Pleasant. Further request for the supervisor to execute said Agreement.

9. Request by, Director of Community Services, Catherine Tammaro, to accept the donation for the Harrison Food Pantry:

  • $2000.00 from an Anonymous Donor (August 2024)

10. Request by, Supervisors, Richard Dionisio, to authorize and execute the agreement between the Board of Education of the Harrison Central School District and the Town of Harrison for the School Resource Officer Program.
