PRESENTATION OF THE 2022 TENTATIVE BUDGET BY THE TOWN CLERK

A. REPORT FROM SUPERVISOR BELMONT ON DECISIONS MADE FOLLOWING TOWN BOARD MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 18, 2021

 

1. Authorization to raise cap on legal fees to $25,000.00 in the matter of Griffin-Robinson v. Town of Harrison.

2. Authorization to raise cap on legal fees to $25,000.00 in the matter of LePino v. Town of Harrison.

3. Authorization to settle the claim in the matter of Frankel v. Town of Harrison in the amount of $7,647.86 and estimated six days economy car rental, subject to a signed general release.

 

B. CORRESPONDENCE AND REPORTS

C. PUBLIC HEARING

 

1. Continuation of Public Hearing regarding proposed Local Law, adding chapter 206 entitled, “Solar Energy” of the Town Code of the Town of Harrison.

 

D. PERSONNEL

 

1. Request by Personnel Manager, Debra Scocchera, to hire the following seasonal employees for the Recreation Department, effective November 1, 2021:

2. Request by Personnel Manager, Debra Scocchera, to increase the hourly rate of pay of part-time Intermediate Clerk, Rosemary King, to an hourly rate of $20.00, effective November 1, 2021. 

 

E. ACTIONS AND RESOLUTION

 

1. Request by Comptroller, Maureen MacKenzie, to approve the following Budget Modification:

 

To record the receipt of revenue from New York State for a grant for the replacement of windows at the West Harrison Branch.  The funds will then be transferred to the Capital Fund and placed in Capital Account 20LB15, West Harrison Library Window Replacements.

2. Request by Building Inspector, Rocco Germani, to reimburse Suzanne Fuller in the amount of $960.00, who has satisfactorily completed a course of academic study.

 

3. Request to set the date to hold a Public Hearing for the 2022 Preliminary Budget for December 2, 2021.

 

4. Request by Chief of Police, John Vasta, for 3 Police Officers to attend the Street Cop Training- Social Media and Open Source Investigations on November 22nd, 2021 in East Windsor, NJ at a cost not to exceed $597.00. This is a budgeted item and funds are available in the Schooling Budget Line #001-3120-100-0415.

 

5. Request by Planning Board Chairman, Thomas Heaslip, to add Kimberly Burkan as a Planning Board Member.

6. Request by Supervisor Belmont to schedule a public hearing for the December 2, 2021 meeting for a proposed Local Law regarding adding Chapter 178, entitled NYS Cannabis Law Opt-out Legislation.”

7. Request by Receiver of Taxes, Michael Giordano, for authorization of the transfer of water rent arrears from WJWW in the amount of $269,712.69 to the 2021 Tax Roll and the 2022 Town/Village Tax Bills of the corresponding properties.
