Duties & Responsibilities

Town Clerk
Attends all meetings of the Town Board and records actions of the Board.

Records Management
Acts as custodian of all permanent records of the Town/Village and must provide for the storage and disposition of inactive records for all departments. Maintains records of adopted Town Ordinances and local laws, oaths of office, resignations, petitions, annual budgets, contracts and the Town Code.

Issues NYS licenses/permits, including marriage, dog, hunting and fishing, accessible parking permits, commuter parking, peddling, soliciting, cabaret, filming, taxi, and special event.

Registrar of Vital Statistics
Keeps a permanent record of all births and deaths occurring in Harrison. Issues birth certificates, death certificates and burial permits. Process applications to obtain certified copies of birth and death certificates.

Freedom of Information Officer
Responsible for responding to requests, making records available, providing copies, and certifying that a copy is true.
